From 1 April 2021 the minimum wage increases from $18.90 to $20.
On Thursday 1 April 2021 the minimum wage is increasing from $18.90 to $20 per hour for adults. The starting-out wage is increasing from $15.12 to $16 an hour. The training wage is also increasing from $15.12 to $16 an hour.
Employers who have staff on minimum wage should let employees know about the increase. If you have any staff on the starting-out or training wage, this may be a good reminder to check when your staff will be eligible to move to the adult minimum wage.
Employers should check any affected employment agreements and make sure payroll is ready for these changes.
